Let me just give you a link, as it's a movie (and on a Yahoo server that apparently trying to fail):

http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=1475790&cl=4067494

Quite cool. A tad too long for television viewing though.

goddamned goosebumps.

I hate this. I'm not watching anything else except commercials for it.
I want no spoilers.

Did you guys see "Combat, part 1"?  It's another of the Blomkamp videos.  Haven't seen any threads that mention it:

I believe in Halo 3 when I see a good ending. That being said, I dig the hell out of the marketing campaign. Maybe this series of ads will kick-start the movie.

Meh.  I prefer the blurry over the top action scene and the Micheal Bay musical fast cut stuff.  I can just imagine a real WW2 war hero watching that video and thinking "WTF this is for a video game?"  It just rubbed me as taking itself a little too seriously.

Yeah, that kind of occurred to me as well.  I wouldn't presume to speak for a vet and don't know if they would actually consider it offensive but I did think that it could be taken out of context.

Still, a very effective commercial. Honestly it was far more stirring than anything in Halo 1 or 2.  I hope Halo 3 can live up to it.

A tad pretentious.  If Master Chief had another name, or callsign, it wouldn't sound so...mawkish, I guess.

Kudos for what it's trying to do, anyway.  Better than any non-gameplay, CGI-fest we're used to seeing.

I think it's the former-Navy in me but his name drives me nuts.  Master Chiefs, by and large, are about the last people in the military that you would expect to be badass warriors (unless someone stole their morning coffee from them).  If they were dead set on using an enlisted rank for some reason then Gunnery Sergeant would have made more sense.

Does anyone out there know why Bungie chose the name Master Chief?

Ok I watched the 90 sec version of the 2nd commercial and it's actually quite cool.

However, what battle is it supposed to be depicting?  Is it one we'll play in 3? Is it from the fiction?  Wha?
