Anyone else excited about this one?  I am.  Something about chicks who are witches just gets me going!   icon_wink

The previews look good and that broom/weapon device of hers looks awesome.  It seems like it could be a really good action title.  I'm enamored by the setting and premise of this game.  Anyone else with thoughts?

I think it could be a decent action game, especially with her special powers that do major destruction, but I don't think it will start any major fires with people.  My one beef is that from all the screenshots and movies I've seen it always looks to have a real washed-out color palette, which detracts from it in my opinion.

I'm pretty 'meh' about this one.  Maybe a demo would change my mind but right now this one is a 'pass'.

Definitely need to see reviews on this.  The concept sounds neat enough but IIRC the reaction to the Japanese release was pretty 'meh' (although I might be confusing this with Vampire Rain).

I'm with you, Starshifter, at least on the being excited for this game.  I feel like I should be more hesitant on it, but I really am pretty pumped.  A decent action game in a unique setting makes a big difference.

Reviews, so far are meh.  Gamerankings: 68%.  However, two of those are 75% or higher.  One is 60%

As for witches, this is my go to:

The witch from 99 Nights is cute, too.

Yeah, I figured most here would be just "meh" about it.  I tend to gravitate towards titles like these that focus on themes/settings I like.  Case in point:  Advent Rising was incredible and my game of the year in 2005.  Everyone here hated it with a passion.  I also enjoyed Superman Returns and we all know how that went over.

And I love the main characters premise:  a tragically melancholy heroin by the name of Alicia.  I'm a sucker for these female types!

Here's a link to Gametrailers if you are interested in checking her it out:  http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2485

And Kevin thanks for ruining the moment!  Now, back to Soulchilde's picture.  icon_wink

Wow.  Who is that Bullwinkle?  And yes, the witch from 99 Nights was darn cute!  I also don't expect the overall rankings to be that high but that never influences me in the least.

Hey, I loved Advent Rising too.  I wish they'd continue with their plans for the trilogy.  Superman Returns was fun at first but got boring after the umpteenth robot attack while I tried to enjoy the open city.

ps.  That's Alyson Hannigan, AKA Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Ah, thanks CeeKay (although it does not make up for that picture you posted  icon_wink).  I never watched Buffy, which explains why I did not recognize the actress.

Glad to hear you liked Advent Rising.  I too wish the trilogy would be completed, but it does not look good.  What an incredible story that game had.

Tell me Alicia from Bullet Witch is not hot:

And another shot I like.  Check out that broom/gun!

Yep!  Currently working my way through Season 1 on DVD.  My kids gave me Season 2 of Charmed on DVD for Christmas and in the process called me a dork!  Then I turned around and told my kids:  "Maybe this dork should hold on to this Wii (son) and wad of cash for shopping (daughter)".  "Dad! Team Xbox has a good preview of Bullet Witch starting with the "Environments of Bullet Witch - NYC".  Check it out here:

http://features.teamxbox.com/xbox/1873/The-Environments-of-Bullet-Witch/p1/

Don't forget to watch the video.  The spell use is pretty cool like "Force Pushing" the vehicles into the demons.  I cannot wait for this game.

EGM had this one in their round-up page for "games that were too late...or too little".  They didn't like it all that much:

Quote
This supernatural shooter, which we played a near-final version of, is one part Devil May Cry mixed with four parts superviolent shooter Gungrave (PS2), sans any trace of fun or challenge.  Stiff-as-corpse animation combines with choppy graphics and one of the most cumbersome magic interfaces we've ever seen.  The disappearing/reappearing graphics and linear levels only serve to affirm the game's reservation in bargain-bin hell.
Bottom Line: Bullet Witch looks like a PS2 game and is plagued with so many problems that it's not even worth playing for the easy Achievement points.

Well, as you may or may not be aware of, my game purchases are never driven by reviews.  I purchase based on what I'm interested in.  If I would have listened to reviews I would have never played my Game of the Year in 2005 (Advent Rising).  And since I never had any interest in Gears of War I never purchased it despite the glowing reviews.  Not my thing.  This is a Day 1 purchase for me.  I will post my impressions after I get the game at the end of the month.  It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.  I'm psyched.

good point

i know there are a lot of games i have played and enjoyed that reviewers didnt like.....gears of war isnt really down my path either(i put it in the halo 2 section)...i didnt mind the game(online is crap!!),but people would think its the best game ever the way they go on about it....it isnt!!

i will read your impressions, see what i feel, although i have FF12,MGS:PO,crackdown and warriors to buy next week...so if i do get it,it will prolly be the month after

a demo wouldnt go amiss on xbox marketplace

If I recall, Bloodrayne on WB1 didn't rate well, but I played it and had a great time with it.  Sounds like this game may be similar as it appears to be much like it from the Gamespot gameplay footage.

It's 49.99 next week so I might pick it up.  But then again, 30.00 Tomb Raider legend looks kinda good too.

Hmm.  Or maybe I'll just play through God of War again.
