Though none of the three possible endings in Persona 4 feel like a natural origin point for this particular scene, there were a few story beats along the way where it would have fit quite nicely.  Yosuke didn’t display much tact in addressing Kanji’s complex.  Luckily, it’s an oversight we’ll be allowed to rectify over and over again now that Atlus’ 2D animated fighting game Persona 4 Arena has been confirmed for a summer release on the PS3 and 360.

Is the original Nintendo isometric racer R.C. Pro-Am considered a classic by old-school gamers?  My friends would certainly rank it alongside Rampage, Gauntlet II, and Skate or Die! as one of the great multiplayer games of the era, but I don’t know if anyone else remembers it well enough to understand how evocative this Bang Bang Racing footage is.  Watching these cute mini-cars slide around tumbling cones, barrels, and oil slicks is enough to make me feel forty-five all over again!

I usually discard anything I see in a pull quote simply because they’re so easy to massage or take out of context.  Ellipses are invisibility cloak of the grammatical world, shrouding exactly as much as you need to make your product seem amazing.  That’s why, when I see a potentially hyperbolic line like, “This is the best looking game I’ve ever seen!” appear in a teaser trailer like this, it would normally trigger my Baseless Hype Detector.

While contemplating how enthusiastic you should be about these amazing screenshots for United Front Games’ upcoming game Sleeping Dogs, it may be useful to note that their publishers at Square Enix London have previously overseen the development of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause 2.  I can’t say how integral the developer-publisher relationship might have been in nurturing such incredible games from relatively unknown production houses, but that’s a darn good pedigree all the same.

I prefaced my time in The Old Republic writing about storytelling.  Decisions, consequences, feeling like my character’s actions carried some weight within the game world: that sort of thing.  It’s a very solo-focused mentality, and it seemed important to establish up front that my interest in this game sprung almost entirely from people talking about how well Bioware was able to cater to MMO apathetics like me.  My goal was to put that to the test, knowing I had absolutely no interest in engaging with the multiplayer community.

Believe it or not EA Sports has never released a Tennis game on either the PS3 or 360, that is until this week’s release of Grand Slam Tennis 2. The game promises to give you a realistic career mode, going up against current greats and some of the game’s legends. It also features online multiplayer and a Classics mode where players get to relive great moments in the sport’s history. Perhaps most importantly to tennis fans is that Grand Slam Tennis 2 is the only current game on the market to feature all four Grand Slam venues.
