Pikmin 3 leads the charge for Nintendo’s Wii U launch

It’s been 8 years since we’ve seen anything new from Captain Olimar and the diminuitive plant beings known as Pikmin. Certainly the Wii re-releases with added motion controls were fun, but the franchise essentially got skipped over for a whole console generation. Perhaps that’s why the crowd went wild when Pikmin started showing up everywhere during Nintendo’s E3 press conference.

We got to take a look at Pikmin 3 for the Wii U at the Nintendo booth, and it definitely looks like the title takes advantage of what the fledgeling console has to offer:
