In 2011, a Mortal Kombat fan and aspiring filmmaker, Kevin Tancharoen, become the series’ best hope for the return of a live-action Mortal Kombat film. Through an avalanche of online attention, Mortal Kombat: Legacy emerged as an exciting web series that told the origin story of the characters from the beloved video game series. A second season was announced last year, and was said to be a retelling of the first Mortal Kombat tournament, and today we have our first glimpse into what that will look like:

Bungie’s Post-Halo Project “Destiny” Finally Revealed

Since the completion of Halo Reach, Bungie has been working in the dark on their next project dubbed “Destiny.” Not much has been made known about the game other than it will be a science fiction first-person shooter. Yesterday, however, Bungie finally blew the lid off the project with their first video documentary detailing some of the overarching themes of the upcoming title.

Skyrim: Dragonborn Now Available on Playstation 3

After months of waiting, and amid worries that the DLC would never come, Dragonborn has come to the PS3. Previous Skyrim DLCs, like Dawnguard, remain unavailable on the PS3 due to continued port issues, but Bethesda aims to please disappointed fans by offering Dawnguard at half price during its launch week.

Minecraft Xbox Patch Aims to Fix 40 Bugs

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition may be the highest-selling Xbox Live Arcade game of all time, but it isn’t without the occasional glitch. After the most recent title update many of the functionalities added were bugged, which caused 4J Studios to respond with an extra update aimed at fixing the various issues. According to a post on 4J Studios’ Twitter, the patch has been scheduled for release on January 30th (that’s tomorrow), and features the following fixes:

The Elder Scrolls Online Beta is Accepting Applications

Fans of Tamriel have been itching to play Zenimax Online Studios’ first project, The Elder Scrolls Online, since it was first revealed in May of last year. Now players may get that chance earlier than the rest, as the Bethesda is accepting applications for the beta testing of the game on their website. The game is set for release later this year on PC and Mac, so the Beta should be just around the corner.

Borderlands 2 “Gear Up” Event Makes Way for Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt

Borderlands 2 is getting its third campaign DLC tomorrow with Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, a download that will bring players to a whole new continent alongside their favorite gentleman. In the meantime, Gearbox has been doing their part to get players excited about the upcoming DLC with their Gear Up Event. The first few days gave players a higher item drop rate for powerful shotguns and grenade mods, but now players have an even more lucrative reason to prematurely return to Pandora. Until tomorrow morning players who have unlocked True Vault Hunter mode will stand a greater chance of spawning Vermivorous the Invincible, an illusive endgame boss that rarely appears when a varkid fully levels up. In addition, upon defeating Vermivorous players will be given better loot than normal, which should be incentive enough for players to seek out this rare boss.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition to get Patched this Month

Minecraft’s anticipated Title Update 7 came to players on the Xbox 360 on December 19th, which gave players more than a few reasons to return to Mojang’s pixelated world. Unfortunately the update, which added enchanting, animal breeding, nether fortresses, and more, also added a few bugs to the mix. Most notable of which is the lack of a nether fortress in many seeds (as they spawn randomly and are not currently guaranteed to spawn in each world).

Guardians of Middle-Earth Gets The Great Goblin and Thorin Oakenshield

Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt Queued for Release as Borderlands 2′s Next DLC

After more than a week of rumors, Borderlands 2′s next DLC entitled, “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt” has been confirmed by Gearbox Software, alongside a wealth of information. The DLC will have players joining Sir Hammerlock on an adventure taking place on a new island on Pandora, and will contain tons of new enemies, a raid boss that Gearbox is calling the most challenging one yet, and a story that will reportedly involve Handsome Jack and a new villain.
