We all knew it would take a little bit of time, but the PS3 is finally entering its RPG golden era. Adding to the long list of PS3 exclusives this summer is Time and Eternity. Retreat to Helm’s Deep this Fall

We are heading even deeper into the realm of Rohan as Turbine has announced Lord of the Rings Online: Helm’s Deep.The expansion will continue the Epic Story into the western plains of Rohan, allow players to take a direct role in the battle for Helm’s Deep and advance the level cap to 95.

Ragnarok Odyssey Melees Its Way To Stores

Etrian Odyssey IV Fonts it Up

Unbeknownst to me, but knownst to the localization team at Atlus, the 3DS is able to use just about any PC font available when porting a Japanese developed game over to North America. For this reason they went through several trial and error font selections in order to find just the right font for the upcoming Etrian Odyssey IV. According to Project Lead Nich Maragos:

Rohan, one of the kingdoms of man and a region that is extremely important in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Since Lord of the Rings Online was first launched way back in 2007 gamers have been eagerly awaiting the eventual expansion into Rohan. People have speculated about what Turbine would do with Rohan, would there be mounted combat? How big would Rohan actually be? Would it take so long for Turbine to create Rohan that the game would be irrelevant by then? Well thanks to a recent tour of the new expansion, guided by Hannah Foell (Associate Producer of Riders of Rohan), I can firmly answer all of the above questions and I think you are going to like the answer.

Etrian Odyssey IV Set for North America in Early 2013

My personal favorite Dungeon Crawling franchise is scheduled to make a return to North America sometime in early 2013 with the release of Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. This fourth game in the hardcore franchise is the first to be released on the Nintendo 3DS and it boasts polygonal enemies designed to make full use of the system’s 3D capabilities.

Rohan Is Taking Shape

The launch of Riders of Rohan is now less than a month away. Anyone who has played Lord of the Rings Online knows that one of the strongest features of the game is the ongoing storyline. Over the past five years Turbine has managed to craft a story that uses your character as he closely follows the fellowship of the ring, assisting them when you can. They really have managed to create a unique story that is true to the books.

At first I was skeptical when they announced a Spider-Man remake so close to the previous trilogy. But I have to admit, that trailer before the Avengers won me over and I actually think The Amazing Spider-Man could outshine the Toby McGuire films by a mile. Anyway you know the drill, there is a new movie based on a comic book, which means there is a new game based on the movie. So we have an all new behind-the-scenes video that illustrates how Manhattan is truly Spidey’s playground. The video is narrated by Brent Nicholas, Executive Producer.

Sure the 2011-2012 NHL season just ended this week, and the LA Kings are your new Stanley Cup Champions. But that doesn’t mean that it’s too early to start talking about next season’s NHL 13. Get Close With Battlefield 3 DLC

Battlefield 3 players were recently given the “option” to purchase Battlefield Premium for $49. This is a good deal if you plan on buying all of the DLC for the game since it will save you some money in the long run. Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Gets Uncharted

It’s no secret that Sony is attempting to cash in on the mascot Smash Bros formula with Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, but if they can manage to make a game as fun Nintendo’s version then I’m all for it. At Sony’s E3 press conference they let us know that everyone’s favorite treasure seeker Nathan Drake would be making an appearance in the game, along with other Sony favorites like Sweat Tooth, Parappa the Rapper, Sly Fox, Kratos, and even Big Daddy from the Bioshock series. SRPG Gungnir Fires onto the PSP

Strategy Role Playing fans have a new PSP game available to them today called Gungnir. Which is a part of The Dept. Heaven series:

Book of Spells Augments Your Living Room

At Sony’s E3 press conference they unveiled their new Wonderbook peripheral. The Wonderbook works with the Playstation Move to bring books to life on your TV screen. The first game for the new device is called Book of Spells and it features the world of Harry Potter. Users will be able to turn their living room into an interactive Hogwarts classroom and learn all kinds of spells. The technology looks promising and with J.K. Rowling’s help it should be fun for Harry Potter fans. Take a look at the screens below to get an idea of how it will work.
