EA jumps Wii U ship

It looks like EA has set its sights elsewhere. In an interview with Kotaku yesterday, EA spokesperson, Jeff Brown, admitted “We have no games in development for the Wii U currently.” This news couldn’t come at a worse time for Nintendo as they’re already suffering from the loss of upcoming titles such as Grand Theft Auto V and their monthly numbers have been disappointing this month.

Wii outselling Wii U in US sales

It’s out with the new and in with the old according to the latest April US sales numbers from Nintendo. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter reports the original Wii console will outsell the Wii U by nearly 20,000 units this month alone. That’s right, it’s been six years and the Wii is still jogging strong with a solid 75,000 units sold this month in the US.

DICE opening new LA office for Star Wars

This morning in our very own galaxy it was announced that Electronic Arts and DICE are in the process of opening a new LA office to help in the development of the next chapter of Star Wars games. The General Manager of DICE, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, hopes that the lure of Star Wars will help attract top designers already working in LA for rival developers.

No David Hayter in Metal Gear Solid V

The man who gave Solid Snake his voice will not be returning for the next installment in the series. David Hayter has been rasping the words of the lead character since he first spoke in 1998. Now he is being unceremoniously cut from the production of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This information comes from Hayter’s own twitter post earlier yesterday.

Conan “Pervs out” over Lara Croft

Conan O’Brien couldn’t resist ogling over Lara Croft’s tight pants during his latest Clueless Gamer review of Tomb Raider. In this newly released video he doesn’t review the game so much as profess his love for Lara while expressing wishes for her top to come off. Conan’s quickly becoming my new favorite game reviewer and it’s not because of his credible scoring.
