Wargaming.net has released a new trailer for World of Battleships, the next entry into their ‘World of’ series and also announced new plans for Wargaming.net itself.  Just like Tanks and Warplanes, Battleships will be free to play with optional features that can be paid for, and will give the player the ability to captain not only a battleship, but light destroyers and aircraft carriers as well.  Additionally, they have announced that all three games will share a common economy, so assets gained in one may be used to advance in another, plus a greater unification of the Wargaming.net universe.  They have released a new video to explain this unification.

Prepare to return to Dead Island in Dead Island Riptide.  Deep Silver has announced that the game, which will be a full blown entry into the series, will start getting an ‘extensive reveal’ over the summer.  Other than revealing it will be developed by for both PC and consoles Techland they are being rather sparse with the details, but we can only hope that it lives up to the open world zombie bashing goodness of the first game.

PlayStation Vita owners are about to get access of a variety of original PlayStation titles via a system update due out this summer.   As there is quite a few PSone Classics available on the PlayStation Network this could  add quite a few games to the list of titles playable on the Vita, including fan favorites such as a multitude of Final Fantasy and Resident Evil titles.  Sony has not clarified if this update will encompass all of the PSone Classics available though, with the only titles specifically named being Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot and Resident Evil Director’s Cut.

Valve has finally set a date for players around the world to revisit the classic series.  The Global Offensive will start on August 21st on Steam for both PC and Mac players, plus Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network.  For around $15 players will have access to all new gameplay modes, new and classic maps, characters, weapons and more.

Tribes will be returning this year with Tribes: Ascend, a digitally distributed title for the Windows PC and XBLA developed by Hi-Rez Studios.  The game will return to the traditional multiplayer only format from Tribes 2, and it will also feature staples from the series that fans have come to expect, including  jetpacks and skiing.  While it is still under development they have released a teaser video with beta footage of gameplay to help fan the flames of excitement, and I have to say watching it makes me think the game is in good hands as the classic Tribes feel is indeed there.  Check it out below!

Konami has sent out the E3 2011 trailer for Rebellions upcoming third person action game NeverDead, and metal fans are going to be in for a treat!  That’s right, heavy metal aficionados, that song you hear in the background for the second half of the trailer is from none other than Megadeth.  The group wrote the title song for the game, and will also be working on the rest of the soundtrack.  When the game is released later this year, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 fans will get to experience unique gameplay as the hero of the story cannot die, and as you see in the trailer he uses this to his advantage.  Check it out below!

Get ready folks, Trendy Entertainment is about to issue a call to arms to all would be heroes.  The downloadable tower defense meets action RPG, Dungeon Defenders, is finally coming to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC this summer, and to kick things off they have unleashed screenshots and trailers through the Xbox Live martketplace.  In addition, reviews have started coming out with both the Official Xbox Magazine and Electronic Gaming Monthly giving it a 9 out of 10 score.  Hopefully we will have a more definite release date for each platform soon along with a review!

Bohemia Interactive is taking a walk on the sedate side with their upcoming Take On Helicopters.  It is a helicopter sim that focuses more on an authentic flight model and less on the killing, blowing up stuff and the other general mayhem of their usual fair.  Instead of playing a gung-ho soldier, players will fill the flight suit of a civilian as they advance their career in a beautifully realized world.  It is due out in the Fall for the Windows PC, and they have also released a trailer for E3, which you can view below.

Just A Game and Biart Studios have brought to the surface a new trailer for their upcoming third person shooter for the PC, Deep Black.  Taking place both underwater and topside, the game will have the player plumbing the murky depths with various high tech gadgets while battling various mechanical and biological menaces in this science fiction adventure.  A word of warning:  the trailer says ‘Now Available’, but I have yet to see it available anywhere.  Of course, Biart is a Russian studio, so it could very well be available overseas already.  Either way, check out the video below!

Microsoft and 343 Industries gave gamers their first glimpse at the continuation of the Halo franchise at the Microsoft E3 press event.  In the teaser video for Halo 4, it looks as if there is no rest for Master Chief as he is awakened by Cortana to face a new threat.  Of course we can all guess what it is, right?  Halo 4 is currently slated for Holiday 2012, and I imagine there will be a new beta for the multiplayer as well.  Anyways, check out the video below!

Deep Silver has unveiled the E3 2011 trailer for their upcoming horror survival game Dead Island.  After viewing it I have to say that, if you love zombie games, it is sure to get you pumped in anticipation of slaughtering the walking dead in the tropics.  In addition, they’ve announced that said slaughtering will begin on September 6th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC.  Check out the video below, but be warned it is graphic and does include strong language.
