Here’s everything we can show you from Halo Wars 2 before release

Last week we got our hands on Halo Wars 2, the upcoming spartan-infused real-time strategy for Xbox One and Windows PC. Here’s all the content that we can show you before the game’s release:

First up is a mission from the campaign, which gives us a small peek of things to come in the battle against Atriox.

Next up, we take a look at some of Halo War 2’s competitive multiplayer modes. Deathmatch is a 1v1 or 2v2 match of attrition where each side competes to manage their resources, control the map, and take out the opposition. Strongholds, on the other hand, is about controlling more strongholds than the opposing player, in an RTS equivalent of King of the Hill.

Finally, we check out Halo Wars 2’s new Blitz mode, which focuses around units as playable cards. A player unlocks new cards by playing Halo Wars 2, and improves their deck, which can be deployed in a wave-based single-player mode, or in a competitive multiplayer mode.

Halo Wars 2 will be available on February 21st of this year. A beta will be available starting today for players to try out the game’s Blitz modes for themselves.

You know that jerk online that relentlessly trash talks you after every kill? That guy was probably Travis "Tie Guy" Northup. Competitive, snarky, and constantly wearing a tie, Travis has been writing his opinions about electronic media since he was a teenager, and is pretty much the only person to hold his opinions in high regard.
