Overwatch’s first animated short sets up the whole game

Blizzard has released the first of its planned animated shorts based on Overwatch, this one focusing on the genetically-engineered gorilla named Winston.

The “Recall” short shows Winston thinking back to his younger years before he has to take on an intruder in his lab.

Blizzard has plans to release more animated shorts focusing on Overwatch’s heroes, as well as comics and graphic novels that will all help to flesh out the world of the competitive shooter.

Overwatch is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 24th, with an open beta scheduled for May 3rd.
