CD Projekt RED already knows when Cyberpunk 2077 will launch

It sounds like CD Projekt RED already has internally decided when it will be releasing Cyberpunk 2077, despite the game being nearly two years away.

Company CEO Adam Kicinski told Polish business show Money (translated by NeoGAF) that while a release date for the studio’s upcoming futuristic RPG is already in place, the studio won’t be talking about it while it is still promoting The Witcher III: Wild Hunt.

“Life after The Witcher exists. We’ve been working on Cyberpunk 2077 for a long time. It’s a completely different reality, set in the future, with corporations and morally grey world. Just to be clear: We already have the release date for Cyberpunk 2077 planned, but we won’t announce it until we are ready to start the marketing campaign. At the moment we’re concentrating on The Witcher and don’t want to distract users from that product, which we are still monetizing.”

This is in line with the company’s statements that it wouldn’t be actively discussing Cyberpunk until 2017. However, CD Projekt RED has stated that the game is significantly bigger than The Witcher III.
