An HD remake of Zelda: Twilight Princess may be headed to Wii U

A fair bit of evidence is surfacing that Nintendo may be releasing an HD remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii U soon.

An eShop icon for “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD” was spotted earlier this week, and since then the title has appeared on the eShop servers.

If true, this will be the latest in a long line of HD remasters for Zelda games that Nintendo has brought to the Wii U and 3DS. The Wind Waker came to Wii U back in 2013, while the 3DS became home to remasters of both Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.

Twilight Princess was first released as a Wii launch title in 2006, followed by a GameCube version the following month.

All these remasters have been released to help whet fan’s appetite for the delayed Zelda Wii U, but that game’s status is kind of up in the air right now.
