Valve is opening up pre-orders for the first wave of Steam Machines, some of which will be shipped to customers on October 16th, nearly a month before the system’s in-store launch on November 10th.
Both Alienware and CyberPower will be the first companies to release their versions of the Steam Machine using this program, and Polygon reports that other companies will be announcing their own plans in the coming weeks.
The Steam Machine console itself will run you $449, while the controller and Steam Link (a device that wirelessly connects your PC to your television) will cost an additional $49 each.
Alienware specifically will be releasing four different specifications of its own Steam Machine, with prices ranging from $449 to $749. Polygon lists the difference in specs as follows:
