Dungeons 2 Preview – It’s good to be bad again

Kalypso and Realmforge Studios GmbH are back with their Ultimate Evil Simulator, Dungeons 2.   Before we get started, let’s take a look at the introduction that sets all this chaos up nicely.

The previous title didn’t quite live up to the high expectations, and EA’s mobile abomination ruined any good will we had for the Dungeon Keeper franchise, so Realmforge Studios knew what they had to do. Throwing out the old influence and souls mechanic, the game has returned to more familiar ground. Excavations, minion recruiting (and smacking), spells, and resource management are delivered handily here. But don’t think that this is just a port of Bullfrog’s genre-defining title — Realmforge has a few tricks up their sleeves.

In this quick look at the first few levels we get to see our vicious beasties leave the dungeon and assault the foul humans in their stinky homes. We also uncover a few hidden secrets, and laugh more than a little bit. Dungeons 2 is shaping up to be the spiritual successor we wanted, but with the new twists we needed.  Don’t just take my word for it – Spencer got his hands on it too and had more than a few words to say.   Enjoy our hands-on preview:
