Holidays are over, time to fund some games – Friday Tabletop Kickstarter Update

Hello! Welcome to Friday Tabletop Kickstarter Update! For info on what is going on here, check out this introduction. The machine is rolling once again. All three of these games look awesome. Check them out:

Remember that I am in no way endorsing these games, I have not played them, I have not talked to the publishers. Back at your own risk.

Deluxe Orleans
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Action Building, Set collection, Medieval France

Often times when a game is published in Europe, it will take some time to be picked up by an American company and distributed to the US. The same is true the other way as well. In this case Tasty Minstrel Games has taken on the newly-released-at-Essen hit Orleans. This game has been getting a significant amount of attention and is now itching to be published in the US. This is no ordinary localization, Tasty Minstrel is also adding a tier for a Deluxe version of the game with fancy metal coins and wooden markers.

Spirits of the Rice Paddy
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Worker placement, Agriculture, Start player bidding

If you are looking to add a little eastern aesthetic to your eurogame, Spirits of the Rice Paddy is worth looking at. Players take on the tried-and-true agrarian goal of running the best farm, but in a much different setting: the rice paddy’s of ancient Bali. Plenty of information is posted on the campaign page, including a long list of ‘euro-y’ components.

Conan
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Adventure, Miniatures, Asymmetric players (One vs many)

At first I was surprised to see Conan up on Kickstarter so soon, but this is different than the Conan that was funded a few months ago by Ares Games. This campaign is for a different adventure game based on the popular Conan character. The campaign is not lacking in miniatures, that is for sure. Who does not want to rampage through a horde of skeletons or a nasty crew of pirates?

If you have KS topics that interest you, let me know @Scooter_TTTD

From Trading in the Mediterranean to FPS, I love games. While I grew up in a house without consoles, PC gaming and board gaming were a large part of my formative years, and continue to influence my life. In this golden age of board gaming, I have jumped in headfirst in to anything table top. As a ludilogical student, I love thinking about how games work, their mechanics, their elegance and most importantly, enjoying how fun they are.

Favorite Board Game (at the moment): Twilight Struggle
Favorite PC Game (base solely on play time): Tie between WoW and DII
