Friday Tabletop Kickstarter Update – Slow week for Kickstarter

Hello! Welcome to Friday Tabletop Kickstarter Update! For info on what is going on here, check out this introduction. Not to downplay and of these projects, but it seems like Kickstarter is in a post summer lull. There is a noticeable lack of notable games being launched. Hopefully these can tide you over until things start picking up again.

Yashima
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Miniatures Tactical Combat Game

I have a feeling I write “Miniatures Tactical Combat Game” that every week. So for those who can stomach another one, Greenbrier Games has launched their current game Yashima. Greenbrier is making a name for themselves with games like Zpocalypse and Ninja Dice. One of the highlights of Yashima is the pairing of a Master with a spirit Kami. Each game promises a different combo of skills and abilities.

All Hands On Deck!
Apparent Weight:
Genre: Deck Building, Rummy, Pirates!

I have said it before and I will say it many times again, I am a sucker for Pirates. All Hands On Deck is a family weight rummy style game with plenty of swashbuckling flair thrown in. For people who appreciate good art in games, this is one raises to the top. Back this and you will most likely be ready for next year’s Talk Like a Pirate day!

Slaughterball
Apparent Weight: Medium – Light
Genre: Miniature Sports Combat

Oh boy… and I don’t mean girl. Slaughterball looks squarely targeted for male gamers looking for cheesecake and violence. Slaughterball is added to the long list of sports based combat miniature games to debut on Kickstarter. Players pick their team and duke it out on the field. If that is your thing, there is plenty of stuff going on with the campaign and plenty of things to add to your pledge. I am amazed that the Valkyrie team does not have male cheerleaders.

Mint Tin Games
Apparent Weight: Light
Genre: Microgame, Portable, Pirates and Aliens

I applaud the Mint Tin Games for making a microgame that is actually small and easy to transport. If you find yourself away from your collection with a hankering to get some gaming in, these two games might cure that itch. The campaign page has plenty of resources to address inquisitive minds.
