Nintendo Shuts Down the Wi-Fi Capabilities of Wii and DS
As of today, Nintendo has shut down the Nintendo Wi-fi Connection capabilities for the Wii and DS.
The confirmed discontinued services include online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for both systems, but the company was quick to preface that Wii Shop Channel, the Nintendo DSi Shop, and video-on-demand services such as Netflix were unaffected.
