Ubisoft won last year’s E3, hands down. Sure they had Mr. Caffeine and other oddities, but their content was far and away the best of anything shown at the show. Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Assassin’s Creed III, Rayman, and the incredible stand-out surprise Watch_Dogs blew everyone away. The jaded press is usually pretty reserved at some of these events, but people were on their feet and screaming at the end of the Watch_Dogs demo. I have absolutely no doubt that Ubisoft could do it again. A better look at Watch_Dogs, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, South Park and the Stick of Truth, and maybe even Beyond Good and Evil 2. Hold onto your seat…you are likely to be blown out of it in the next hour.
The event starts at 3PM PDT, join us for the liveblog!
Guns are very unbecoming of an assassin in my opinion.
Sadly, Aisha is a better presenter than all of Microsoft. And that’s not saying much.
I think Assassins Creed needs more guns…
I think that all of the games have promise and they all have their audiences, but those three games? That’s out of the park.
Everyone love Raving Rabbids.
The Crew, Watch Dogs, and The Division all look promising.
Obviously not till the next-gen consoles are out.
That is it! No release date
Did we get a release date?
Ubisoft killed it. The Division looks really promising.
It’s Next-Gen consoles – PS4, One
Nice awkward ending there
I would say by far the best game of this presentation.
Online, open world. Tom Clancy. In.
Tom Clancy’s name attached to The Division
Drop in, drop out. Comm looks great. The interface is simple. Really slick. Best game of this presentation IMO.
The UAV said Chris [Tablet].
Loving the HUD.
With Watch Dogs and now this, Ubisoft seems to be branching out nicely.
It looks fantastic. The Homefront reference is the fact that everything falls apart on the idea of 3 days supply.
Looks like a big open world.
Visually, The Division looks damn good.
Playing it on the PS4.
Because the world is a crazy place! Completely different than Homefront, doesn’t involve an invasion. Infection that spread, you have your division that has been delegated to help contain this madness
Sounds like Homefront, honestly.
Atmospheric, unique, and horrifying all at the same time.
Why does oil dry up on day 3? Why does failure take only 5 days?
To reiterate, this looks incredible.
Co-op, one person playing on tablet, live demo happening now.
The Division looks to be the name here
“What will it take to save what remains?”
Power fails on day 4 of the outbreak, day 5: Everyone is a threat
“By the time patient zero feels the first sore throat, millions will be affected.”
This is looking really interesting.
“Americans can spend 90 billion dollars in one shopping day.” This is weird. This is interestingly fantastic.
Ubisoft showing off an open-world RPG
One more thing…
My son will be borrowing it constantly.
Trials Frontier is going to kill my battery.
Trials Fusion on next-gen
Trials Frontier on mobile
Trials game seems to be spanning across multiple vast environments, much more cartoony than previous installments. Two new games, one on mobile and one on next-gen consoles.
Trials series of games – looks like we’re in for mobile gaming.
New Trials game? I’m down!
Yeah, I was digging that song.
Half Moon Run – Full Circle was the song
Great song playing over the trailer so there’s that.
Starts with a quote, because that hasn’t been done before. Failed in remaining uncynical. Seems to be a trailer insteead of straight gameplay. I suppose it is “in engine” though.
YES! In for Vikings
In-game footage of Black Flag, will do my best to remain uncynical.
Assassin’s Creed is fast becoming the new Dynasty Warriors.
Vikings! They should do Vikings! Just, you know, with some time in-between.
No gameplay in the trailer, simply showing main character doing bad things to people.
Dude just shot a gun into his own ship to cut the rope. Who knows who he killed below-decks?
I just want an Assassins Creed that isn’t annualized.
Speaking of revolutionary, I’m still waiting on an AC game set in the French Revolution.
I’d rather see feudal Japan.
Pirates are cool. I don’t know if they’re cool enough. AC3 had ships, and it feels like ‘evolving’ instead of being revolutionary.
Watch Dogs more than satisfies my desire for new IP.
Toasting ale. Definitely pirates!
Black Flag trailer being shown.
Time to show the same thing we’ve shown the past few years! Assassins Creed! My cynicism is palpable.
Interactive TV works with National Geographic – but this isn’t edutainment.
This is the insanely stupid thing I’ve been waiting for.
Kids on the TV are now fake throwing eggs at their TV.
Strong partnership with Microsoft? Odd to hear from the Rabbids guys
“They’re normal sized, I’m a mutant!” No Aisha, you’re wearing seven inch heels…
Rabbids Invasion is Xbox One. Exclusive?
Adrian Lacey wins best shirt of E3. Flowers all up on that! Still talking up the Rabbids interactive TV show
That was sarcasm, in case it didn’t come across. ;)
Uplay watermark in the corner of the screen. Looking forward to that.
What’s with all of these gaming franchises expanding into TV?
Rabbids Invasion TV show is gonna be on Nick. Can play it on your interactive screen? Don’t know what that means but sure.
…. and we’re into TV territory. Rabbids Invasion TV show.
Just Dance 2014 coming to “all” platforms in October. So that includes Virtual Boy
when people look away from the screen, they fail – so why would the trailer show people dancing without watching the screen?
Singing and dancing, Just Dance 2014. Okay.
Watch Dogs is over. Promise of more during E3.
sorry, pre-rendered or in-game. Clearly it’s cutscene
I just want Watch Dogs in my hands at this point.
Models look out of this world. Wondering if this is cutscene or in-game….
Trailer it is
Dominic Guay, senior producer, out to talk Watch_Dogs. New trailer incoming or more gameplay?
Here comes Watch Dogs!
Uhm. Sony let all that info go.
Customize cars on your ipad
A ton of time spent on The Crew, a bit odd.
Clearly a long ways out as some of the visuals look a little rough. The modeling of the city is gorgeous
When it becomes a racing game, it looks like a racing game. Granted, a very fun racing game
Live gameplay is being played with an Xbox One controller.
You can strip all parts from the body of a car and build it all back up.
Driving in the mountains of Nevada, you could drive down there and drag race on the strip. No lobby system, menu appears at the bottom which you use to invite friends
Quite a lot of time being dedicated to this racing game. Glad to see some live gameplay though!
Live demo being shown, following four players in four different regions of the country. They’ll eventually meet in Miami.
Open-world driving experience, entire game is an online, persistent world
Creative director, Julian Gerighty, out to talk The Crew. Wants more variety in the racing genre
The Crew makes a lot more sense. Overhead map of the US has to mean something. Coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC in early 2014
The Crew, I believe
Now showing a racing game, not sure of the name. Couldn’t understand Yves perfectly, The Crow?
Side note: Friend that is watching E3 with me has fallen asleep.
Yves Guillemot out to talk next-gen
So THAT’S how you pronounce his name.
Well, kind of comedy. Next-gen time says Aisha!
South Park trailer. Real comedy!
Speaking of foul mouthed comedy…
Foul mouthed comedy is the best comedy. Join the free beta at http://www.themightyquest.com
This knight is swearing like a sailor!
Cartoon art style, trying to be funny… Unsure if it will succeed just yet.
He just referenced OPP, that was funny at least. Showing an announcement trailer now.
I thought loot-driven games were overrated…until I played Torchlight 2.
Designer out talking about Epic Loot, designing a castle to defend against incoming forces
The Might Quest for Epic Loot is a hilariously bad name that is just kind of bad.
There’s no way, but at least it’ll be SOMETHING on the Wii U.
I don’t think Rayman will be enough to breathe life back into the Wii U.
Yet another trailer is being shown, Ubisoft knows we like us some Rayman
Rayman releasing on Sept. 3rd
Rayman Legends being highlighted. You’re right, Aisha… It is gorgeous
“You can’t stop the blacklist.”
Aisha managed to make it dirty.
Splinter Cell Blacklist being shown. Spies vs. Mercs, all that good stuff. Coming out in Oct. Trailer being shown as I type this
Aisha Tyler gonna be making it super awkward again this year
Looks like Aisha Taylor is back to presenting, reprising her role from last year.
DECENT STREAM FOUND! First thing I see? #girlwood
Bear with us as everyone scrambles to find a decent stream…
