Mad Catz working with ViviTouch for audio

vivtouch

Mad Catz is teaming up with ViviTouch for their unique 4D sound tech for their gaming headsets.   We checked out ViviTouch when they showed off this tech last year.  Essentially, the ViviTouch  gives what they are calling a 4D Sound experience by transmitting physical sensation through a thin polymer film.  It will be interesting to feel and hear how this transcends traditional audio.  Here’s a nibble from the folks at Mad Catz:

“We believe ViviTouch 4D Sound technology brings an added sense of realism to sound effects in first person shooters and action adventure games” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “Mad Catz is committed to developing innovative products for passionate gamers through the early adoption of new technologies.”

Normally I snip out the “About us” sections on any PR we get, but I think it’d be great to hear more on ViviTouch.    We have an appointment to hear and apparently feel more from them, so stay tuned for our hands (and ears!) on with this unique product. Unless I miss my mark, we may be seeing the birth of a new approach to rumble, mice, headsets, controllers, and more.  Something beyond just vibration.
