The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing – Katarina

VanHelsing

If you’ve not heard of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, that’s ok – I’m here to tell you about it.   We’ve got some screenshots and a video trailer to show off a bit about one of the main characters in the game – Lady Katarina, but if you’ve missed out on the game up to this point, it’s a gothic-noir steampunk action-RPG.  That is to say it’s all about loot-whoring and a LOT of clicking.   If you are a fan of Diablo II, Torchlight II, or Titan Quest, I’ve got a treat for you that might have slipped under your radar.   Here’s a nibble about Lady Katarina:

Lady Katarina is a ghost with snappy wit that comes to the support of Van Helsing on his supernatural hunt to uncover the mystery of a new scientific scourge in the land of Borgovia. Katarina is of great aid to Van Helsing as she comes with her own abilities and behaviors to boost the hunter’s hit points, mana, damage, and much more. Having her own skill tree, three different forms, magical tricks, and the capability to travel to the nearest town to buy and sell items, Katarina is essential for Van Helsing’s adventure. Whether it is freezing enemies in place or summoning a brutal bolt of energy, her assistance is highly valued when it comes to ferocious battles in the wilderness.

Indie developer Neocore Games looks to have put something pretty sweet together, and we love indie titles.  The game is only $14.99 on Steam, and we are working on a hands-on preview for you.   In the mean time, if the video speaks to your inner loot-whore, make sure you hit theteam’s DevBlog, ‘Like’ the game on Facebook, and follow it on Twitter.   The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing hits Steam in late May 2013, and if you pre-order the game you’ll gain access to the closed beta!  Enjoy the screens and video.
