Welcome back to Games for the Masses, where we help you pay less to play more! This week we’ll start off by busting out our digital d20s with our favorite Infinity Engine. Da, Comrades! The highlights this week is the collection of late 90s RPGs put out by Black Isle and BioWare. You can get your nerdy little hands on RPG classics Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, and even Planescape: Torment at Good Old Games. GoG is running a promo where each title you purchase costs 10% less than the other, meaning you can get individual titles for $5.99, or all five for around $18 bucks. You’d be hard pressed to find better value than paying 6 bucks for the 40-80 hours each one of those games will last you, so if you’re low on cash but have a lot of free time you can let the Infinity Engine wash your blues away
Other great deals this week?
Torchlight 2 ($9.99)–If you’ve ever played a Diablo-style loot grinding RPG, you know what you’ll find in Torchlight 2. We at Gaming Trend loved this title, so if you’re curious to give it a shot, why not do it when you can net your copy half off?
The Witcher 2 ($11.99)–This one pops up on sale quite often, which makes me curious as to why you don’t own it yet. Yes, I’m talking to you. With that dumb “Who me?” look on your face. Geralt of Rivia’s second adventure is a dark fantasy masterpiece. Go play it!
Humble Mobile Bundle—It’s another Humble Bundle. You know the drill: pay what you want, get a bunch of indie games and a portion of your proceeds going to charity. The big hits this week have to be the addition of tower defense classic Plants vs. Zombies and the masterpiece of 90s adventure gaming: Another World.
Mighty Indie Bundle—Another bundle, different games. This one doesn’t seem to have much of a theme, though there are a few interesting titles in there. Zafehouse:Diaries looks to be a zombie-themed text adventure, while Avadon: Black Fortress is yet another throwback to classic RPGs.
Those are the big ones I could find this week. If you think I missed a great deal, let me know in the comments below! Until next time, Game on Comrades!
