Resident Evil: Revelations is coming to bigger screens

RE

I’m really not the biggest fan of portable gaming. It makes my neck and hands ache, the games just don’t look very good (I’m of the high-end PC ilk), and when I travel I’m usually not comfortable and I don’t like to game in discomfort, especially when mood is such an integral instrument of the experience. So, despite being a 3DS owner – I am, afterall, a mindless consumer who buys things he doesn’t end up using – and a massive Resident Evil  fan, I skipped on Revelations .

Now I can unskip it, as Capcom has announced that the game is coming to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC. I’ve been hearing people across the ever critical spectrum of the internet call it a cash grab, but to that I ask: what else would it be? Every video game release is a cash grab, the real question is whether or not there is any integrity behind it. So far it’s looking good in the integrity department, with Capcom promising enhanced graphics including improved lighting and new “bells and whistles”, new weapons and Custom Parts for Raid Mode, and a new enemy type.

There is one caveat – the game will retail for $49.99. This would be the point of contention for those complainers I referenced earlier. Resident Evil: Revelations  releases on May 21st.

Sean started playing video games in infancy. He was not given a choice as much as a directive from his parents to be the best gamer on Earth. Sean was subjected to 10-12 hours of rigorous daily gaming throughout his youth, mastering the most complex video games and dominating online competitions. Sean's symbiotic relationship with video games led to writing about them for various gaming websites, and he is currently involved in sales strategy and analytics at one of the largest video game publishers in the world. Sean's mission is simple: Turn 100% of the human population into gamers, willingly or otherwise.
