Dark Souls DLC now availible for PS3 and XBox 360

At long last, console gamers have a reason to revisit Lordran. That’s right: Dark Souls has new content, in the form of DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss is the cumbersome title given to a download which essentially gives players on the consoles access to the additional material that came with the PC’s Prepare to Die edition.  In case you don’t remember what that included, let Namco-Bandai’s press release refresh your memory:

Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss features sprawling new maps and environments, new boss characters, enemies, non-player characters (NPCs), an arsenal of new weapons and armor as well as additional challenging content for unrelenting heroes to face as they return to the deadly world of Lordran. Darkness born in the forests of Oolacile is expanding and engulfing the kingdom and all of its people. Only the strongest and most persistent players will be able to stop the encroaching darkness. Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss’ online match-making feature allows console gamers to showcase their skills against other Dark Souls players around the world.

We really liked the new content in the PC version, so if you’re interested in the game, buying this is probably a no-brainer.  You can get the new content right now on the Playstation Network for $14.99, or for 1200 Microsoft points on XBox Live.
