It’s hard not to be skeptical of most Kinect games. While the Kinect has a lot of potential, it really hasn’t been utilized well with perhaps the exception of Harmonix’s Dance Central games. When Fable: The Journey was announced last year, it’s not surprising that gamers were underwhelmed. When they had a demo for it available, I really didn’t think I’d be that impressed. However, once I got a handle on the controls, I felt like I was actually casting spells and destroying enemies with ease. I walked away happily surprised, although I admit that it did give my arms a bit more of a workout than I had expected because I really was throwing my arms around. If you have a Kinect, then check out my session at E3 and see how well it worked, as well as a brief Q&A with someone from Lionhead Studios.
