The buzz surrounding the Vita during its launch has been suppressed by a gaping lack of new releases, and while the PSP games that actually work on the Vita help ease the pain, nothing beats a shiny new game. Releasing this week – yesterday, to be precise – is Disgaea 3: Absense of Detention , a turn-based strategy RPG that is sure to try and steal my attention from the PSP version of Lunar: Silver Star.
Disgaea 3 has a lot of “geo” stuff going on, and by that I don’t mean destructible environments (a reference to Red Faction’s Geomod engine…). What I’m talking about are Geo Blocks and Geo Panels, which allow you to manipulate the battlefield to create stat-boosting effects such as increasing damage and invincibility.
Disgaea 3: Absense of Detention is available now on the PSP in both physical and digital formats for $39.99 and $34.99, respectively.
