Gamespot is reporting that Telltale Games employees have been submitting reviews of their own game to Metacritic.
Developers should have enough faith in their work to let it stand on its own merits. Proud of their work or not, the act of posting these reviews without proper disclaimer that the authors themselves worked on the title is inherently deceptive and shows a gross lack of respect for their game’s potential players.
Developers are naturally proud of their work, but it’s bad form to talk about their own products without disclosing that they worked on it. Whether this happened because of ignorance or deception, it looks bad either way.
