A lot of great board games have come out in the past couple of years. While more people have become aware of these games, sometimes getting together for a game is harder because of time commitments. With board and card games coming out for portable devices, you can play these at your leisure. Playdek has done a few of these translations, and they have just announced a new partnership with several different game publishers.
Playdek, a leading mobile video game publisher, announced today five new strategic partnerships with world-class board game developers Christophe Boelinger of Ludically, Lock n Load Publishing, Eagle Games, Gryphon Games, and Rebel Games at the International Spieltage Conference (Spiel ’11) in Messe Essen, Germany. These join the company’s other distinguished partners Gary Games, Cryptozoic Entertainment, Plaid Hat games, Lookout Games and Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), making Playdek one of the industry’s leading providers of quality board games for the iOS and mobile platforms. Spiel ’11 attendees can test-drive playable games and meet many of Playdek’s partners at Booth 4-104, October 20-23, 2011.
I got a look at the early version of Summoner Wars at Gen Con in August and it looks like a faithful recreation of the game. Their other conversions have been very well received. This is great news for those who like board game but can’t always get together with someone else. They have several games that they are working on, and if you haven’t checked out Ascension yet then I highly recommend checking it out. Check out the full Press Release below for more details.
