There seems to be a bit of a renaissance in the fighting genre. We recently have had Street Fighter IV (and it’s two Super incarnations), Mortal Kombat, and Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Next year we’ll have a new entry in the Dead or Alive series, and SoulCalibur will be making a comeback with SoulCalibur V.
