PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) Sales Reach 70 Million Units Worldwide

Well look at that – it seems that the Sony PSP has achieved a rather historic milestone in number of units sold worldwide. Apparently 70 million of the little engines that could have found themselves in the hands of gamers, so naturally Sony felt like sharing the good news with everyone. The majority of the release is a history lesson of the PSP, but then they also threw in this nugget for good measure:

SCE will continue to promote the expansion of the PSP platform and offer a variety of interactive digital entertainment along with PlayStation®Vita as an official name of for next generation portable entertainment system, which will make its debut at the end of the this year.

So now we have that unit to look forward to as well. Which is awesome.
